GEETHANJALI MALLI VACHINDI
"Geethanjali Malli Vachindi, A Familiar Ghost with a Few New Tricks" the sequel to the popular horror-comedy "Geethanjali" reunites us with director Shiva Tripathi and actress Anjali. The film centers on a down-on-his-luck director, Srinu (played by Srinivas Reddy), who stumbles upon a chance to revive his career by making a horror film in a haunted mansion.
A well-known mixture of humor and terror is cooked up by the plot. In an attempt to recreate the enchantment of the first movie, Srinu gathers his group of eccentric authors and a hesitant hero (Satya). Anjali plays Geethanjali again, but this time there's a catch: the movie's creators want to include her spirit in the new production. The humor in the movie is quite effective, especially when it comes from the friendship between the struggling filmmaker and his writer colleagues. Some of the best parts of the film come from their jokes and attempts to negotiate the film industry. As Geethanjali, Anjali excels, flitting between sly and frightening with ease.
However, the scares fail to impress. The horror elements feel predictable, relying on jump scares and recycled tropes. The plot, while interesting in its premise of filmmaking within a haunted house, doesn't offer much in terms of novelty. The villain's motives are underdeveloped, and the resolution feels rushed.
The technical aspects are decent. The cinematography captures the eerie atmosphere of the mansion effectively, and the background score adds moments of suspense. However, the songs are forgettable.
"Geethanjali Malli Vachindi" is a mildly entertaining watch for fans of light-hearted horror comedies. The film offers some laughs and a chance to see Anjali revisit her iconic role. But with a predictable plot and underwhelming scares, it fails to deliver a truly chilling or groundbreaking experience.
